| Name: | Tyler Harrison |
|---|---|
| Birthdate: | 1982-09-08 |
| Location: | Rhode Island, United States |
Characteristics, traits and personality:
Tyler is a real go-getter. He’s excited very easily about new and creative projects. He likes to take charge and is a little head strong when it comes to finishing a project by him self. He’s very respectful and knows when to let other people take the reins if he’s in over his head. He’s a smooth talker when it comes to the people he’s working with and trying to convince them on how they should do a project, but it doesn’t always relay back into his personal life. Creativity is important to him because it’s how he got so far in his career, so he’s always looking to be new and different and stay away from being stale, which sometimes causes people to think he’s crazy and annoying.
Brief bio:
Tyler was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts by his mother, Brenda, and his father, Mitchell. His mother owned and ran her a small independent bookstore while his father played baseball for the Boston Red Sox for 6 years before sustaining a knee injury that cut his Major League career short, but he was then recruited as a batting coach for the team.
Early in his childhood Tyler was bred to love baseball and his father wanted nothing more than to have Tyler take after him and become a professional baseball player. Tyler went a long with it, enjoying the team aspect and the fun that came along with the sport, but it wasn’t his passion in life. Tyler discovered his passion for creativity early on in life when it 5th grade the children were split into groups to create a new cereal and then create advertising to try to get the other children in the class to want to buy their product. Tyler loved it immediately, it allowed his creative juices to flow and he realized that this was what he liked doing best.
As Tyler grew he tried his best to keep his creativity flowing; he joined band and played the saxophone for a few years, which opened up his love for jazz music. After he quit band he discovered Theatre, which became his sole reason for living for quite a while. Doing plays allowed him to tap into his creative outlets and become a whole new person and discovered how to act as a group rather than just as an individual. He also helped the drama club with the promotions of their plays, which gave him more of an inkling towards advertising and PR as a future career choice.
While he was popular and well known around his school, the questions about his sexuality began to surface and no one really knew which sex he preferred. Tyler, himself, became very confused and for quite a while branded himself as bisexual because he knew deep down that he was most likely gay, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to be open about it yet.
After he graduated high school he attended Boston University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and PR as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He then attended the graduate program for a Masters of Science in Advertising and PR with the hopes of someday running his own PR firm. While being away from his family (he ended up living in an apartment close to school) Tyler was able to experience more of the gay and lesbian culture that Boston had to offer and he finally got the courage to come out to his family and friends as gay.
While completing his Masters degree he started looking into jobs, which lead him to a firm in Providence. He has been working there for 3 years now and has been able to progress up the corporate ladder and is currently in charge of his own PR team. While in Providence he stumbled upon The Daily Grind late one night after work and quickly became taken with their coffee. He is currently trying to figure out how to best approach the owner and talk about taking the coffee shop on as a client.
